Tanner Foust and his teammate Brian Deegan are in a two-way tussle for the Global RallyCross Championship title. After a victory at the fifth round held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Tanner, the series' defending champion, is taking a six point lead to the finale. Foust also left Sin City $25,000 heavier in his wallet by also winning the three-race Discount Tire-America's Tire Cup. "This was a critical victory," said Foust. "The title fight is very competitive and to gain three more points on my teammate Brian Deegan puts me in a good position heading into the season finale." Deegan fought hard all weekend long, also taking a heat race win and the critical bonus point that comes with it, but ended up a half-step behind Foust. "Topi (Heikkenen) went long in the shortcut and I got under him and right on Tanner, and just watched him" said Deegan. "I thought, 'The money is right in front of you, just lay cool.' I was trying, trying, trying and not making any mistakes. Tanner was pushing a little wide in the dirt. I thought if I could just get under him, but he had enough gap on me and all I could do was watch him slip away." The final showdown will determine which 'Rockstar' will take the championship.
