According to Car & Driver the next-generation Mazda3 is going to provide some fun seat time. Mazda is unleashing its SkyActiv technology and Kodo styling philosophy on the next 3. SkyActiv is Mazda's approach to design and manufacturing that optimizes lightweight, efficiency and performance. The car's current 2.0-liter, 155-horse four is a SkyActiv entity. The new car will get a SkyActiv drivetrain and be significantly lighter due to its SkyActiv chassis. As a consequence, the car's performance prowess should improve. Further, we hear that a turbocharged Mazdaspeed3 variant is also in the cards. The 3's styling should share cues with the all-new Mazda6 (pictured), anything to distance the car from its former 'smiley face' front fascia is appreciated.
