Las Vegas, known for its extreme desert climate, went through a cold spell the three days Leah Dizon crossed the Nevada border and rolled into Los Angeles for our cover shoot. She's the daughter of casino dealers and-through many years in high school theater-is a self-admitted nerd because she loves the acting community. Armed with the smarts and confidence of a girl years beyond her 18, this sexy beauty aims to get her degree in the arts and eventually pursue the Hollywood dream. She'll be Los Angeles-bound before the end of the year. She's a virgin to the import scene. Her baby steps include only a handful of Web sites and one other magazine cover. Her newness makes it difficult to find any real information on Google; it only teases with random candid photos. The interview will clearly be hard to come by. After ringing various cells around the office I ended up with an AIM screenname. I catch her online. Cake.
2NR: Will you be in the mood to do it with me in 15 minutes?
Leah Dizon: I'll do it with you whenever ... and however.
2NR: U scare me.
2NR: Back in 15 then. Warm up. "Get your eagle on" girl.
LD: Haha. K.
2NR: OK here we go. U ready?
2NR: Name. Height. Weight. Ethnicity. City you represent.
LD: Leah Dizon. 5 feet 5 inches. 115 pounds. Filipina/Chinese/Caucasian. Las Vegas.
2NR: Were you always from Las Vegas?
LD: Yep. Born and bred.
2NR: How old are you? When were you born?
LD: I just turned 18 on September 24, 2004.
2NR: What do you like about being from LV?
LD: Being from Las Vegas is cool because the culture here is so different from everywhere else. Personally, I think it's just normal, but it fascinates other people, you know? Our economy is based around gaming.
2NR: Gambling. Drinking. Strip clubs. Hooteehooo!
LD: As far as all the strip clubs and everything, I'm sooooo used to it. I think it's weird when I go somewhere and there aren't any. It feels like something's missing. LOL.
2NR: I feel the same way-and don't mention the fact you can smoke damn-near anywhere. Has the Vegas culture made you more open to things?
LD: I don't think it's the culture as much as just my personality. I'm very open-minded.
2NR: So when was the last time you ... kissed a girl ... while dancing ... with both of you slathered in glitter lotion? Well? I didn't think so.
LD: Hahahahaha. That whole bit about smoking anywhere is making me crave a cigarette. I just quit. Damn you.
2NR: What do you think I did with those 15 minutes before this interview.
LD: Aaah you suck.
2NR: Would you say you are a good poker player or what I like to call "poker-er."
LD: Hahahahahaha. I probably couldn't tell someone something they couldn't just learn form watching Rounders. Poker is universal; I just grew up with it here.
2NR: Mommy and Daddy don't gamble but baby girl can rack up them chips, eh?
LD: LOL. My mom is awesome. I didn't even know how cool she was until recently. She can do all these cool shuffling tricks and tricks with chips and stuff.
2NR: Did your parents have to do some dirty work and dig a ditch in the desert for the boss?
LD: Hahahahha! What the f--k are you talking about?
2NR: I dunno ... I guess I'm watching too many gangster movies.
LD: LOL. Yeah.
2NR: So did they?
LD: Dude. You watch too many movies.
2NR: What got you started in modeling?
LD: I was getting my pictures taken by a photographer in the Bay Area while I was visiting family. The photographer suggested I go to a show with her. I just started getting offers and really followed up on them. A year ago I had no idea what "the scene" was. I thought an "import model" was a model who came from outside the United States. LOL.
2NR: BTW: That would be an "imported" model.
LD: Fool dun make me shank yo ass. But yeah, I started modeling last October and was contacted by a photographer for a magazine. I hadn't ever heard about the magazine until the staff contacted me. The issue just came out in April. I got really lucky. I feel a little guilty. What I'm doing is part of so many girls' dreams and I didn't even have the time to dream it up. It just happened. Maybe undeserving is a better word.
2NR: But shouldn't all the pretty girls come up quicker?
LD: Pretty girls, yes, but I'm weird-looking.
2NR: Let's talk about that. What's the weirdest part of your body?
LD: Hmmm ... my whole face! Asian lips. White nose. Round, Asian face. It's all miss-matched!
2NR: What would be your sexiest part?
LD: I get a lot of compliments on my lips and my eyes-and my ass. Hahaha!
2NR: Oh yeah ... Seen your ass. No lies there.
LD: My waist is small and my ass is like whoa damn! Hahaha!
LD: My mom has the same figure.
2NR: Mmm ... Mommy is a milf? Oh wait sorry.
LD: LOL. Hahahahha.
2NR: What's some of the crazy things you've done? I heard you used to fight people for money.
LD: I do a lot of crazy things. LOL. Well, it depends on what you mean by crazy things. I went to Japan by myself when I was 14. I was my own boss running around a foreign country for about a month. Or do you mean like sexually? Like having sex in public places? I don't see what the big deal about it is.
2NR: Uh, yeah. Me neither.
LD: It doesn't turn me on or anything and I don't get off on it. The whole public-place thing is overrated. You know what I get off on? I want to steal a missionary off his bike and make him my slave or something ... that's hot!
2NR: Weird. Are you single?
LD: Am I? I actually don't really know.
2NR: Well you're not anymore. I just bought you.
LD: Hahah. G2G. Let's finish tonight? I have class.
I slowly realize IMing an interview is growing increasingly difficult. I want to get home and relax.
Leah Dizon is online. 6:35 p.m.
LD: Hey. Sorry about earlier.
2NR: Do you have a favorite meal?
LD: I like pho (Vietnamese noodles).
2NR: Any good places in Vegas?
LD: I like Pho Kim Long.
2NR: Say that again. This time with passion.
LD: PHO KIM LONG! Hahah!
2NR: I need your number. I'm calling you right now. Pick up the phone.
2NR: What turns you on?
LD: Intelligence, humor, ambition. Someone who has goals. Someone who is talented. I'd hate to tell a guy to get a hobby. He has to have other things going on in his life. I've only had one real relationship.
2NR: What are your turn-offs?
LD: I don't like aggressive guys. I like the quiet, shy guys who aren't so upfront about how they feel. At the same time I don't like push-overs or guys who are smelly.
2NR: What do you wear to sleep?
LD: As you know it's hot here in Vegas, so of course I like to wear lingerie.
2NR: Would you do anything to modify your body?
LD: Not anytime soon. If I got older and got wrinkles then I'd do something to make it better. But I'm pretty happy with what I've got.
2NR: So what would you wear to impress a guy or to just feel sexy?
LD: I don't really go out of my way to impress guys. If they like you, then they like you. And as for feeling sexy, I don't think it's what you wear; I think it's an attitude. If you feel sexy it shows.
2NR: What are some of your qualities guys would like?
LD: I'm not really the kind of person to hold anyone down. I give freedom. I like freedom.
2NR: Where could we go to see you?
LD: Tuner Bash After Dark, www.myspace.com/leahdizon, www.babeblvd.com, www.pinays.com, www.girlsof360.com, www.liannelin.com.
2NR: Any last words?
LD: Big thanks to Import Tuner, Steve, Elliott, Hong, Roland, Jackson, Lianne Lin, Derrick Yee, everyone at www.babeblvd.com, www.onlineshowoff.com, www.pinays.com and www.girlslof360.com. To all the people who come out to the shows, thanks for all the support! Don't forgetto come see me this year at TBAD!
