Apple Price was on vacation in Europe when she got "scouted" by some agent. She was always obsessed with fashion magazines, but never considered a career in modeling. It wasn't until a few years later, after declining yet another offer in NY, that Apple decided to give it a go. "I was back home in Dallas and my friends convinced me to go to a local agency." Two years later, she's living in Beverly Hills. "I decided to move to L.A. because I needed a change. I've only been here for 8 months. I absolutely love the weather." Yes, L.A. can be great, but it can be harsh as well. Perhaps, just perhaps, it wasn't as easy as it seems. Unfortunately, girls can be, well let's just say, a little catty. Especially when you're the gorgeous model type. "Actually, I got lucky. The first shoot I did was with a girl who took me under her wing, and now we're best friends. I'd much rather have a few really good friends than just a lot of acquaintances you see at random places all over town."
It's hard catching up with a girl whose always on the go. When I finally did reach her, she had been up since 6 a.m. working on a shoot in Vegas. "My job isn't as easy as people think. I've been at work for 12 hours today! Just visiting Vegas is hard work for me. The bad habits I pick up are way too many to count. I guess my worst habit is that I'm always a late for a date, but in LA everyone is at least 10 minutes late." At least they're consistent...and you're always late, but worth the wait? "Definitely."
Moving to L.A. was probably the best move Apple could have made. Her career is quickly taking off but she can still find time to lounge around at home with her dogs or hang out in Santa Monica. "I'm really laid-back, not crazy at all. I love going to the pier and playing all of the carnival games. Cheesy, I know, but I just love it. My dream date would be taking my two dogs to the beach and rollerblading, and then going to the pier." And any dream date has to involve food and drink. "Pizza is a must, and you can't go wrong with carrot cake. Pina Coladas are my favorite drinks right now. And LaLa's in L.A. has the best bread and pesto dipping sauce!" Along with the beach comes visions of over-tanned, super-pumped dudes that could probably break me in half by just thinking about it. "I hate people that talk about themselves constantly. They ask questions that are so unimportant. 'Apple of my eye' comes up a lot." So what kind of guy does catch the Apple of her eye? "(Laughing) I love British accents. Sweet and honest, hot, of course, not the jealous type." Being in L.A., one has to be in tune with their astrological sign. Luckily for Apple, she's a Scorpio. Mysterious, secretive, and sexy, but watch out for that sting. "I love being a Scorpio but people always assume I'm very jealous because of it, which I'm not. It is probably the sexiest sign out of all of them though." That goes without saying.
At 20 years of age, Apple is going places; Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York and anywhere else along the way. Some decisions have been difficult, but the road isn't always that easy. "I'm most proud of when I decided to do the best thing for me. I wasn't just happy being comfortable in my life. Thank you to everyone that has been supportive and positive, especially in L.A.!" When you finally get sick of hanging out at the beach trying to catch a glimpse of Apple, you can always spot her on the runway. "I did a runway show for Macy's Passport. $14 million has been raised for AIDS research. I was very excited to be a part of it." Modeling and fashion go hand-in-hand, obviously. When her modeling days are over, and that's many years from now, Apple hopes to stay on the fashion end of her industry. "Anything in fashion, maybe a stylist. Or maybe I could even open a dog store that sells doggie dresses and we could have monthly fashion shows for the dogs!" Aren't all men considered dogs? It's like comparing apples to oranges you say? Then I choose Apple any day of the week.
