Adrienne Janic - Interrogation Room

Adrienne "AJ" Janic

Former 'Overhaulin'' and 'Hot Rod TV' host, Adrienne Janic - or simply AJ - is no stranger to modified rides and most recently has taken on hosting duties for "Hot Import Nights TV". We stole her away from the daily grind to see how she's enjoying the gig so far, and she's here to let all the short Asian brothers out there know that you definitely have a chance with her... if you're so inclined to pull the trigger. Not literally, of course.

Super Street: Domestic to imports, sounds like a big change. What was it like changing scenes?

AJ: The transition from "Overhaulin'' to "Hot Rod TV" (where I designed and built my own muscle car, a '68 Firebird) to "HIN TV" has been a crazy whirlwind! I was actually working on "Hot Rod TV" on Speed when I got the offer to host "HIN TV" I was a bit unsure at first because I didn't know too much about the tuner scene like I knew muscle cars. But then again, I didn't know ANYTHING about cars when I started working on "Overhaulin'' (and ended up learning on the job), so I said "why not?" I'm always up for a challenge!

SS: And with that you're taking on an entirely different fan base. What do you prefer: hunky rednecks or short and very horny Asian guys?

AJ: Hmm, I would have to say BOTH! The girl-crazy rednecks have that southern charm about them and I like the accent although I'm not used to being called ma'am. It makes me feel old! On the other end of the spectrum, the horny Asians are very cute. I'm 5'8" and with heels, almost 6 feet. So when they flirt and I flirt back, they kind of freeze and almost don't know what to do next! It's adorable in a funny way.

SS: Well, that gives our resident perv, Roel, a fighting chance then! How about cars? Which one gets you going?

AJ: The import that gets me fired up is the Audi R8. The first time I saw one was on a Superbowl commercial. When I saw one at a HIN show, I was drooling and there were hearts in my eyes, kinda like the ones you seen in cartoons when they fall in love.

SS: Now that's a super dope car; I think I'm seeing stars myself! What kind of personal twist are you adding to "HIN TV" this season?

AJ: I'm going to add a flavor to "HIN TV" that you haven't seen before; I'm fun in a dorky way and I hope that comes through in every show.

SS: Sounds like us. Note we still have hearts in our eyes. Tell us a little bit about what "HIN TV" is all about.

AJ: Overall, "HIN TV" is a fast-paced, high-energy show that will not only cover HIN events but we'll go behind-the-scenes and show what goes into producing a HIN event as well as in-depth profiles on the DJs, drifting, XDL riders, your favorite import models, musical acts... the list goes on! Each episode will be different and representative of the vibe of the host city.

SS: We better program those DVRs then. Any last shout-outs?

AJ: I just want to say thanks to all the fans who watched and supported "Overhaulin'' and "Hot Rod TV", I hope that you'll enjoy "HIN TV" as well. To all the people that I've met along the way at each city and HIN event, thanks! I had a blast! See you at Hot Import Nights!

"Hot Import Nights TV" is airing now. Please check your local cable listing for show times.
