May 1, 2009

Pioneer XMP3 Satellite Radio
In the '80s, owning a portable Walkman radio was the "must have" item, next to sporting a Michael Jackson "Thriller" jacket. XM and Pioneer welcome you to a new era of portable electronics, as they unveil this XMp3 satellite radio. The XMp3 is the lightest and most compact wearable live satellite radio, and the first with simultaneous multi-channel recording capability. It also features a Programming Guide providing subscribers more ways than ever to discover and record their favorite content, as well as the "Best of Sirius." The XMp3 has a micro-SD card slot for additional MP3 storage and includes XM2go Music Manager software for organizing content.

The XMp3 features the ability to record up to 10 hours of individual songs from its live music channels. Listeners can schedule up to five channels of recording simultaneously, allowing users to store up to 75 hours of sports, talk and commercial-free music programming. In addition, the XMp3 includes an auto-record feature that automatically stores up to 30 hours of listeners' favorite content. The XMp3 weighs in at a scant 3.1 ounces and features a large easy-to-read screen for use on the go or in the car, home or office.

Memphis Car Audio
MClass Subwoofers
Throw those cheap swap-meet amplifiers into the trash. Memphis Car Audio has a new MClass line subwoofer that will blow the doors right off your ride. Building on the success and reputation of their popular MClass line, Memphis Car Audio now adds new MClass subwoofers to the mix. In addition to the super lightweight carbon Honeycone construction that maximizes sound accuracy and performance by creating a pure wave, these new woofers offer increased power handling, and can be used in a wide variety of amplifier and enclosure configurations.

Built on the exclusive signature basket, the cosmetics of the "M" offers the advantage of increased accuracy by keeping the cone in perfect alignment with the speaker. Inside the coil, an additional aluminum heat sink dissipates destructive heat.

The Next Generation In CD Players
Pioneer Electronics continues to expand its in-car entertainment and connectivity options with a new lineup of single CD players. The Pioneer flagship models DEH-P7100BT and Premier DEH-P710BT are designed for the tech-savvy enthusiast with the latest advanced features including:

Bluetooth 2.0 from Parrot - Pioneer delivers premium hands-free phone calling with absolute clarity due to a twin beam microphone that cancels background noise and echo effects. A variety of hands-free profiles are supported including HFP, A2DP, OPP, AVRCP, PBAP and AT Command.

Voice recognition - Pioneer adds safety and convenience to making hands-free mobile phone calls. Drivers can simply say, "Call David Smith," or recite David's phone number, and the system responds with text to speech (TTS), acknowledging the user's command and executing it.

I Tunes tagging - Simply press and hold Pioneer's rotary commander to tag music on FM radio (using RDS data where available) or HD radio channels (optional HD Radio tuner required). Users can then easily transfer songs to a connected iPod to preview and purchase songs as they please (when the iPod is later connected through a computer to iTunes). The new "Tag & Share" gives users the power to "share" their tags with another person's iPod when both devices are connected via the new dual USB.

Dual USB inputs - Experience greater flexibility to link a combination of iPhones, iPods or other music players at the same time, without having to remove one device to replace it with another. This powerful new feature is also included on the DEH-P5100UB/510UB units with one USB input located on the front face plate.

Kicker QS-Series Matched Component Systems
Using the latest, most innovative parts and cutting-edge processes to give the listener the absolute closest thing to live sound, Kicker's QS-Series' midrange speakers present a first from KICKER--the Tri-Tech cone: a straight, efficient cone consisting of a woven carbon-poly facing, a highly-advanced, super-rigid Rohacell foam core, and a carbon-poly backing for utmost internal damping and quality sound. If the cone design gets you excited, take note of its midrange motor structure. The voice coil is made of lightweight copper-clad, aluminum ribbon wire densely wound for maximum power handling and extreme efficiency. It's wrapped around a T-cut pole piece and copper shorting ring that provides smooth frequency response and reduces harmonic distortion. The motor is housed in a solid cast-aluminum basket that combines a unique groove-locking system and variably-thick surround to hold the Tri-Tech cone in place.

Don't forget about the QS-Series 30-millimeter tweeters with DuPont Tetoron domes which recreate luxurious highs from a flush, angled, or coaxial mount, the latter allowing the installer to remove aluminum phase plugs from the midrange speakers' centers and screw in special adapters and tweeters.
