There’s more to consider when upgrading a factory forced-induction setup than merely slapping on a bigger turbo or new supercharger pulley. The setup must work as a whole, and this theory applies equally (if not more so) to boosting a NA powerplant as well. Nissan GT-R Front-Mount Intercooler
The AMS Nissan R35 GT-R front-mount intercooler is the same unit used in all of AMS Performance’s Alpha GT-R models and will support up to 1,500 hp. Fitted exhaust heat blankets reduce turbo lag and increase turbo spool time while significantly reducing under hood temperatures. They are an excellent heat barrier protecting the hood, hoses, and painted surfaces from residual heat damage. Prosport turbo blankets come with stainless steel anchoring hooks incorporated in the shield along with free spring clips to make securing the blanket to your turbo fast and easy. 50mm Atmospheric Blow-Off Valve
Forge Motorsport is pleased to present its new 50mm atmospheric blow-off valve for universal fitment to custom applications. The valve has the largest possible inlet and discharge port sizes providing for the absolute maximum discharge volume. The internals are piston based using Viton O-ring seals and also use Forge’s current range of interchangeable springs for a wide range of adjustability. A threaded and O-ring-sealed aluminum weld-on flange is included for adaptation to custom charge piping, while an aluminum V-band adapter is optional for applications with an existing V-band connection in place. Garrett is introducing three new GTX-series turbochargers, extending its dual-ball-bearing lineup for road and rally racers, drifters, and even daily drivers who are looking for more flow and power than the GT series turbochargers have. All three feature forged, fully machined, billet compressor wheels designed using next-generation aerodynamics; 11 full-blade wheel design for improved efficiency; dual-ball-bearing oil- and water-cooled CHRA for the reliability expected of Garrett turbochargers; and are certified burst contained. HKS’ Super SQV (sequential blow-off valve) uses a unique sequential valve structure and a differential pressure control system, which allows for a broad operating range from low boost to high boost. Its Pull-Type relief design ensures stable operation regardless of the amount of boost pressure. The Super SQV will support new generations of turbocharged vehicles. Reliable functionality of the Super SQV 4 is unchanged and utilizes the same mounting flanges as all previous-generation SSQVs. This assures compatibility with all optional HKS SSQV inserts, recirculation fittings, and recirculation kits. HKS Super SQV 4 features include a nickel-plated, die-cast-metal secondary valve, which is swaged to the primary valve and a stainless steel C-clip and spring to increase sealing and durability.
HKS’ latest forced-induction system, the GT Supercharger, is a newly developed “torque reaction drive type” centrifugal supercharger. A centrifugal-type charger was selected, as it carries many advantages such as low noise, light weight, and compact design. The traction-drive system further reduces noise over traditional overdrive gear systems. Because the overdrive ratio can be increased with this system, the compressor size can be reduced, and as a result, a compact unit is possible. Torque-reaction-type systems apply pressure in proportion to transfer torque, making the unit durable and efficient under low load conditions.
