Seven Stock X, Irvine, CA
Rain can put a damper on just about any outdoor car show. No one wants to get out of bed just so they can stand around in a parking lot and get wet. Well, most people would opt for dryness, but as we all know, hardcore car fans will venture to any automotive gathering, rain or shine.
A.M. showers kept a lot of people away from Southern California's celebration of all things rotary, SevenStock, now in its 10th year. Fans of Felix Wankel's engine braved the threat of damp and frizzy hair for the opportunity to converge in the parking lot of Mazda's U.S. headquarters in Irvine, CA. But there was more to do in this parking lot than park cars: rotary fans kept themselves warm and dry by checking out each others' rides, buying rotary-themed goods or drooling over some very-cherry JDM Cosmos.
We played it smart and showed up fashionably late to the event. By being lazy and sleeping in, we missed the rain and got to experience the show with frizz-free hair. We also got to take these pictures and not get our camera equipment wet. Score one for us!
Vortech Gives Back--To You!
Yeah, we know this is the January issue of Super Street, but it's October as we write this, and chances are you're reading this in December. We bring this up because Vortech is bringing its "Bonus Bucks" campaign back, and it expires Dec. 31. If you buy a complete non-tuner supercharger system and fill out the appropriate paper work before the expiration date, Vortech will put a cool $250 back in your pocket. Check out www.vortechsuperchargers.com for more details.

TURBO GOES TO TOKYO
Our sister publication Turbo is once again putting together a package tour to the 2008 Tokyo Auto Salon. For just a hair under $2K, you will get six days and four nights in one of the most exciting cities in the world. Not only are airfare, transportation, lodging and early VIP admission to the Tokyo Auto Salon included, but you'll also get to attend a kick-ass drift experience package put together by RAZO and Nitto Tire. Race queens aren't included, sadly. For more info, check out www.kintetsu.com/autosalon.

Subaru STI Revealed:
We'll have more in-depth coverage of the Tokyo Motor Show next month, but we'd be kicking ourselves in the pants if we didn't show the first official photos of the new WRX STI as soon as we could. We mocked the standard WRX a bit in the December issue of Super Street, saying that the Impreza had the sex appeal of a Corolla. Well, the new STI does manage to sex things up a bit. A blacked-out grille, headlamps and blistered fenders add some much-needed cool points to the Subaru 5-door. Official specs have not been released at the time of this writing, so expect us to deliver the dirt in a future issue. In the meantime, enjoy this first look at the new STI.
UNLIMITED SLIP
I've officially decided that I dislike writing editorials. It's not that I'm opposed to completing the tedious task of writing 300 words in less than 10 minutes; it's just that I realized that I don't have anything of interest to write about. I'm not angry like Ricky, so I can't fill this space with three paragraphs about what pissed me off last week. I'm also lame and spend most of my evenings at home, so unlike Carter, I can't "casually mention" that I swilled champagne with some big mover and shaker in the VIP room of some exclusive Hollywood club.
So what, then, do I fill this space with? Well, since I can't think of anywhere else to put the following statement, I'll put it here:
Send me your pictures of your tuned vans and wagons.
