SS: How did you girls get into driving or motorsports in general?
Jessica: Our brother's to blame for that. He's been through so many cars, from domestic to import; he's a racing fanatic. He always had the fastest car, whether it was on the street or at the track. If anyone else wanted a fast time, they'd ask him to drive. He was a key player in the street racing scene and helped to promote its popularity, so I guess we got sucked into it as well. We (Jennifer and I) used to street race, but it's too big of a problem these days.
Jennifer: It's very dangerous and you realize how many people cannot drive. Plus, it's too easy to get caught and get a fix-it ticket for something stupid.
SS: Do you get pulled over a lot?
Jessica: Yeah, but I always try to play the cutesy role. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but more often than not, it works.
SS: Do you get a lot of tickets?
Jessica: I've gotten a street racing ticket before, but that's probably because we had the slowest car out of a group of Mustangs and motorcycles. This was the automatic Accord, mind you.
SS: So the cops were basically walking after you.
Both: Well...yeah (laughs)!
SS: Do you drive your own car at the track?
Jessica: I do, but when I drive, I tend to baby it and run a slower time than someone else would, like my brother, for instance. When it's not your car, people will beat the s--t out of it. The fastest it's ever done is an 11.60. We would've been able to go a lot faster, but without a rollcage, we had to let off. The track officials would've disqualified us from competition for not meeting specific safety regulations. On my own, the fastest I've run is a 12.00.
SS: What kind of modeling do you do?
Jessica: Lingerie, bikini, and Playboy.
Jennifer: Same, but no Playboy.
SS: Why not? We subscribe.
Jennifer: They didn't want me! I don't think I would do it even if they did want me because their shoots take a long time to finish. Being naked for 11 hours doesn't appeal to me.
Jessica: Mine took about 21 hours. It's also a little weird when you show up to a shoot and there just happens to be 20 guys on set who you happen to know.
SS: Interesting. Our shoots didn't take nearly half as long as you claim and we felt comfortable with our friends being on set. What do you prefer more, modeling or racing?
Jessica: I like the cars better, that's why I'm glad I can mix the two, although I'd like to learn more about wrenching; that's the one thing I can't have people try to explain by drawing diagrams, but rather by showing me hands on. My brother and his friends are great at teaching us things.
SS: Do either of you plan to pursue racing professionally, and if so, what kind of racing?
Jessica: I'd like to [become a pro drag racer]. It's more of an adrenaline rush for me. I'm sure drifting or road racing can be just as or even more exciting, but there's no sense of competition in them to me.
SS: How respected are the two of you in the compact performance community? Do you get hate mail like we do?
Jessica: Not from the guys, but the girls because of the modeling we've done. Once our photos hit the message forums, we get a lot of responses from other girls saying, "Why don't they put pictures of us up? We work on our cars. We're real girls." Hello? We are real girls! The jealousy is overwhelming.
SS: Would you say there's a lot of people who don't believe in what you claim to drive?
Jessica: I don't know what's worse, that or the one time we found this guy's Web site who took my pictures and claimed I was his girlfriend.
