I am a car audio installer for a large electronics retailer. One day, my co-worker and I decided to play a joke on the sales guy of our company. Our prank was to have a key made, code up a new remote for his alarm, and mess with his car and make him go crazy. We started with the key. I have a really good friend who works at a local Honda dealer. I gave him a call [and] the VIN of the Civic, and he cut me a key, free of charge. So, we entered the car, disarmed the alarm, and coded the remote. The next day, we started by taking his car and moving it little by little. We would move it from its parking spot and just turn it the other way. He would leave for lunch and you could see he was worried but didn't say anything. Sometimes, you could hear him say: "I know I parked closer to the building," or "I really don't remember backing in this morning." We would also remote-start his car during the day and tell him that his car is running. As he would drive away, I would hold the panic button on the remote so the alarm would sound. He would ask us to check his alarm, and we would pretend to check it and tell him it's fine. We started to move his car from one parking spot to another. We'd move it just one spot over, one spot up, or one spot back. We did this for at least four days. One day on his day off, I was driving through town in my wife's car and saw him at a red light. I was actually able to activate the panic button on his car from the other side of the streetlight. So, he's sitting there at a red light with his alarm going off. This was like day five. He came into work the next day all huffy, "You guys got to fix my alarm or take it out, I can't take it any more!" Now he's starting to lose it. We decided to show him the key and the remote, and he was like, "I really thought I was going crazy!" I also told him about me holding the panic button while he was driving. We were laughing for hours. He looked so relieved to finally know that he wasn't losing his mind.
