"Yee Haw!" Get ready to put the pedal to the metal and hold on to your hats because "The King of Route 66" has just rolled into town. Pick one of five crazy drivers to try to drive your rig to glory while putting the smackdown on the evil drivers from the soulless Tornado Corporation who have ruined the glory days (there were glory days?) of trucking on Route 66. It's your chance to take back the highway and send the Tornado Corporation to its ruin.
Do what it takes to win, because the Tornados are out to trip you up every chance they get--so play a hard, fast game. One piece of advice, use your rig to demolition your way to victory because those big rigs will take out trees, concrete poles, parts of buildings and of course, other drivers. Smash your way to the winners circle to get the cash you need to get some upgrades for that big rig of yours. Along the way, you're bound to meet a wide variety of characters guaranteed to spice up your ride one way or the other.
Choose from two-player split screen racing or one-on-one challenges against the Tornado drivers. Like many racing games, this one also offers mini-games and doggone it, these little games are cool. We never knew a big rig could fly so high in the air, how fast you can whip it around an obstacle course, or how well an 18 wheeler can demolish little cars on the road.
The controls are easy to use and once you get used to how the truck handles in turns and on straights, you'll be good-to-go for the long haul. The graphics in this game are strong giving players nice looking roads and streets to race through. There's nothing new technology-wise in this game, but it is a solid package of straight-out racing games that will easily keep you entertained for a while. We give it 3 nukes.
