Capcom can always be counted on to put out a good action-fighter game. Being a dominant force in the gaming industry for over twenty years, certainly has its perks, and one of them is the ability to create exciting storylines with great-looking characters, animations, and fighting sequences . In "Crimson Tears" gamers journey to Tokyo in the year 2049 where an unexplained occurrence at a bio-engineering company named ARMA has triggered a destructive chain of events. Gamers play as three characters, Amber, Kadie, and Tokio, humanoids who are armed with superior strength and fighting skills, to break through the shifting levels to save the city from destruction.
This is a 3D cel-shaded game and the characters all look fantastic and sport fluid animations along with their distinct fighting styles, moves and weapons. In a nod to the RPG, players will be able to inventory new weapons, and continue to upgrade weapons by using parts either found or paid for at the various shops "in town." Players will also be able to purchase health and various types of cures to make sure gamers complete the level. This game relies on the buddy system and if one character runs out of health, players can use another character to "rescue" the other. Players must then fetch their comrade in a certain amount of time or run the risk of losing all the money and objects collected on that level.

"Crimson Tears" incorporates an "automatic dungeon" system, so each time players visit a particular game level, the layout, enemy count and location will all change. For gamers having to try several times to make it through a level, it keeps the gameplay fresh and interesting since there is no predicting what is waiting through the next passage. It does help that all three characters are playable, because each one has a different strength and special weapon, and the inventoried items are shared by all, so there is only set of items to keep track of instead of three.
Players can choose the difficulty level, so beginning gamers should be encouraged to give this game a try. The controls are fast and easy to learn, and what is better than whacking the bolts out of some creepy crab robot for cash and prizes? "Crimson Tears" is a solid action gamer with a good storyline and great fighting sequences. The characters and controls are simple to master, and with the ability to choose the skill level, even beginning gamers will have a chance for victory!
