With so many military based action-shooters on the market, it gets hard to choose which one to bring home from the store. Activision aims to give players not only exciting gameplay, but a truly cinematic experience with their latest installment in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Finest Hour. This epic first person shooter covers three important Allied campaigns during WWII, and gamers will see action in battles from North Africa to both the Eastern and Western fronts.
Call of Duty: Finest Hour drops players into the action to experience war through the eyes of Allied soldiers from Russia, Britain and the US for a spectacular, adrenaline-filled good time. The cinematic qualities that developers worked so hard to produce permeates the game at all times, and gamers will find it impossible to escape "the war" as the sights and sounds are ever-present making even less combative missions tense and exciting. Advanced AI techniques makes for nice realism and gamers can count on their squad of men to act and to perform as a well-trained military unit. Real tactics and maneuvers are incorporated and gamers will be providing cover fire, laying down suppressing fire and coordinating attacks on enemy troops.
True to the time period, soldiers are armed with weapons and weaponry authentic to WWII. A nice array of over 30 different types of weapons including machine guns, grenades, pistols, sniper rifles, and for extra fun, a nice big tank, offers players a much more varied list of missions to complete. Call of Duty: Finest Hour lets players experience WWII from different three different military viewpoints either as an American tank commander, or a British commando, or a Russian foot soldier.
Online gamers, Call of Duty: Finest Hour is available to play on both PS2 and Xbox. Online gaming is all about team-based multiplayer action that can be set up for an Axis vs. Allies match, or pick from range of Team-based missions, or take it to limit with Team Deathmatch. Activisions' Call of Duty: Finest Hour doesn't break any new grounds technically, but it is an intense, exciting, cinematic experience that fans of the genre will love.
