Majesco Entertainment scores a big hit with their twisted action-adventure game called, Psychonauts. This is one of those gems that can get lost in the shuffle of bigger titles, but for fans of the action-adventure platform game, Psychonauts should be at the top of the list to try. Gamers are in for a truly, tripped-out ride playing as Raz, a Psychonaut cadet who must master his impressive psychic abilities in order to save fellow cadets from being kidnapped and having their brains sucked out by an mad scientist. The only way Raz can win is to use his cool, paranormal powers like firestarting, clairvoyance, invisibility, and the ability to launch into the mind of someone else telepathically. Game levels include "real world" levels and "mental world" levels that has Raz fighting nightmares, unlocking hidden secrets, sorting emotional baggage and trying to keep himself sane the whole time. Non-linear gameplay lets gamers explore and play the game in their own way, taking advantage of multiple paths to play and sub-challenges to keep things interesting and light-hearted. Psychonauts is a solid game that scores high marks in all categories.
