Ok, you've decided to finally break down and go turbo. That turbo kit your eyeing will give you the 75 horsepower jump you so desperately desire, but you don't like the blowoff valve. Or the wastegate. Or the turbo. Time to go custom! Precision Turbo & Engine has most of the parts you need to build your own turbo kit: turbos, intercoolers, injectors, fuel pumps, wastegates, and blowoff valves. The foundation of any kit is the turbo itself, and Precision's got ya' covered. Instead of using turbos primarily assigned to your pops Grand National (oh, they have those, too), they've developed turbochargers specifically engineered for smaller displacement, 4-cylinder engines. The series, aptly dubbed Sport Compact, all utilize a Garrett core. Some of the more wicked examples feature GT Technology, which is normally reserved for the high dollar GT Ball Bearing turbos. Looks like we finally found turbo parts worthy of our next project car. Not only are these high-quality components, they are suprisingly affordable. The SC Series turbos retail for $825, while the intercooler costed $525 and a set of four injectors ran $340. Yeah, we were shocked, too.
Stay tuned to Super Street as we use a the trio of Precision components to help us strike fear in the hearts of the VTEC cognoscenti. Scroll down for more pics!

Arse-shot of the almost-to-big-for-the-street SC61. Since we opted for the more streetable T3, the A/R is .63. TO4 versions come with a larger .69 (similar to an O-Trim) or .76 (identical to a P-trim). The .63 we have is slightly smaller than a Stage 5 [wheel]. | Beautiful welds we only dream of fashioning join the Garrett bar & plate core to the cast end tanks made in house at Precision. | Don't be fooled by imitations. All Precision turbos have the logo on the turbine (hot side). The logo is actually in each turbine mold. |
