Moroso Motorsport Park Race Birds

The race fans in South Florida are hard-core. They love racing. You can hear it when you approach the stands. Even before you see them, you can hear them (I hear them in my sleep. I can't stop it!-JW). The blat-blat-blat of a rotary begins, and right behind it is the roar of rabid Floridians. If you didn't see it with your own eyes, you might think someone was playing the track called "Fanatic Applause" on a sound-effect CD. Racers from California, Puerto Rico, neighboring Eastern states, and Florida gave the audience at the first NIRA event of the season at Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm Beach, Florida, quite a lot to yell about: Abel Ibarra's crazy-fast pass (which, much to the dismay of onlookers, went untimed), local favorite El Original, and Craig Paisley's solid-performing Supra. They all garnered the vocal love of the crowd. Less cheered-for but just as competitive was the car show, which set a track record at 275 cars. NIRA 2000 has come.
