Game On: E3 2009 Offers an Advance Look at Tomorrow's Hottest Thumb-Numbing Distractions

Check this out: In its first week released on the Internet, the follow-up to Ken Block's viral mega-hit - Gymkhana Practice (www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs-jAImScms) - managed to pull in 2.3 million viewers. That's about half the hits the original has (currently tagged at 5.5 mill) and that's been out since last November. Nucking futs isn't it? Although the first video made our jaws drop with the Segway sequence, Ken Block made sure to up the "holy shit" factor, pouring more resources into the creative process of filming part two, dubbed "The Infomercial". This includes an all-new STI rally car, more crazy rally stunt driving maneuvers that seem impossible to do (yet Ken makes it look ridiculously easy), film production to match and a cameo appearance from a skater you might recognize who goes by the name of Rob Dyrdek. We gotta give it up for a game that is not apologetic about wanting to grab an off-road vehicle to tear through the world's toughest terrain and smoke your opponents in the process. MotorStorm Pacific Rift on the PS3 is going to be the next big game that'll let you go wild on their tropical battlegrounds to dish it out with either tough AI opponents or multiplayer racing. Master the tricks and avoid crashing because unlike most games where you get up and go, you can actually wreck shop here, and no course will ever be the same once you thrash on it. Don't get me wrong, you'll rock out to "Given Up," "What I've Done," and "No More Sorrow" on your morning commutes, but "Bleed it Out" is the only track that blends Shinoda's flow with Chester's vocals.
