How 2: Kill Time While Your Turbo Cools - Quick Tech

We can't count how many times we've told you that if you have a turbocharged car, it's absolutely essential that you let the turbo cool down before you turn the engine off; just a minute of chill will add years to the lifetime of your turbo. The turbo timer is an ingenious invention, allowing a person to leave the car running for a set period of time and then automatically shutting it off. But if you're poor like us and can't even afford an inexpensive turbo timer, we've come up with a few ideas to kill about a minute or so of time while you're sitting in your car.

1. Pull your car into the parking spot and set the emergency brake.	2. Depending on if you're using T9 or regular text input, you should be able to complete and send one text message.	3. Don't you hate it when your friends borrow your car and move your mirrors? Now you have time to set them back to your liking.
4. You can't go out in public if your hair is all messed up. Take a few seconds to fix it while your car cools down.	5. Re-tie your shoe laces tighter so you don't trip over them later.	6. If you're going on a date, here's an opportunity to run through your lines and make notes so you don't sound like an idiot.
7. Let's say you're going to a meeting. Take these 45 seconds to come up with a really stupid excuse for why you're late.	8. Go through your wallet and organize the stack of receipts that you've been collecting and planning on turning in to your accountant.	9. Check your breath to make sure you don't smell like you've been eating Korean food. If it smells like garlic, chomp down a pack of gum.
10. Collect all the garbage that's lying around in your car and throw it in the trash, Litterbug.	11. Look for and gather up loose change. Maybe you can pay for a double cheese-burger later.
