Honda Civic B16A Motor Swap - Heart Surgery

B16 Honda Swap On The Front Crossmember
On the front crossmember, there are two brackets welded in place for the front mount. These two brackets need to be cut down to make room for the B16A. With HASport's solid urethane mounts, a front mount will no longer be needed.
B16 Honda Swap A Very Common Problem
A very common problem among these used transmissions is the third gear grind. Along with a new third gear synchro set from Gear Speed, the transmission was sent to ES Tuning for a rebuild.
B16 Honda Swap With The Transmission Off
With the transmission off, install the ACT flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. Make sure to use an alignment tool so the transmission will slide on correctly.

Just behind the VTEC solenoid, the always-leaky cam seal was replaced with a aluminum Blox cam seal replacement.

Since we are installing a B16A from a EG, we had to change the driver side engine bracket to one from a '90-'93 Integra. This is the same part used in Japan on '90-'93 DA Integras and '90-'91 EF Civic/CRX SiR cars.
