Tanabe Concept G Exhaust Details:
- Six horsepower gain
- MSRP $690

- Made with SUS304 stainless steel
One of the easiest and most basic ways of adding power to your car is aftermarket exhaust - not to mention the visual and sound benefits. The Scion FR-S isn't known for having a powerful motor, so as an FR-S owner, I turned to Tanabe for its first power mod.
Currently, Tanabe offers two different exhausts for the popular chassis: the refined Medallion Touring which is a dual exhaust like OEM and the Concept G a single exit exhaust, which was developed more for motorsports. This will leave a space on the right lower part of the bumper. I opted for the Concept G option, which has an MSRP of $690.
My good friend Charles Treiu assisted with what was a very quick install. After removing and installing a few bolts the SUS304 stainless steel catback system was good to go. You'll notice a difference in sound with boxer engine undertones. The Tanabe Concept G is a very streetable exhaust that is 93db compliant.
The Tanabe Concept G exhaust is also significantly lighter than the OEM exhaust with thinwall piping, a hollow exhaust hangar, and pressed flanges. The result is clean sound output, weight reduction, and power gains. Tanabe ran the dyno and found a six horsepower gain.
