No need to dispute; Tanabe is already recognized as one of the top suspension manufacturers.

Tanabe’s Sustec Pros comes with all the necessary hardware needed to install with an optional upper pillow mount hat.

1. This install is cake. You’ve done this at least three times this year for one of your friends, so much in fact that you should be doing it blindfolded by now. If not, then don’t worry. Simply loosen the bolts on top of the shock tower, unbolt the necessary components on the lower portion, and remove the factory shock.

2. Tanabe provides detailed instruction on how to assemble the Sustec Pro suspension. The kit also includes instructions on how to install upper pillow mounts if you had opted to purchase those as well.
Honda EM1 Civic Si Suspension View Adjust Ride Height
3. Adjust the height settings to your liking. It may be a good idea to leave it at the highest setting and work your way down to achieve a satisfactory ride height. Re-install the Sustec suspension in the reverse order of removing the stock suspension.

4. As you can see here, the short case shock body is matched with a lower spring. This will help keep the ride quality stable and prevent the factory shock from blowing out prematurely.
Honda EM1 Civic Si Rear Suspension View Install
5. Installation for the rear is easier than the front. You’ll need to work around your factory paneling in order to access the top shock nuts. Other than that, the rear suspension drops off with the removal of a couple of bolts.
Honda EM1 Civic Si Assemble Rear Shock Assembly
6. Assemble the rear shock assembly. Installation will be in the reverse order of removal. In just a few moments, you’ll be able to take advantage of a well-balanced ride.

7. There you have it. Aggressive and it provides improved handling. What more could you want?

Fiction: They are a great asset when it comes to scoring with women, much like a size 16 shoe or an ability to palm a medicine ball would. (Damn it! Who spreads these lies?—RC) In these two cases, the first seems to work out logically depending on if there is an application available for your car (visit www.mackinindustries.com for applications). If you can’t find one there, you’d better pray that your feet and hands are adequate. Raceline Development’s Elton Lo proves his manhood here on a Civic Si with a set of Tanabe Sustec Pro Street dampers. Watch and learn, baby, watch and learn.
