Install the center adjustment bolt between the two sections of the bar. Remember, one section screws in clockwise, the other section screws in counterclockwise. Place the Monkey Bar across the rear floorpan and adjust the middle nut on the adjustment bolt until snug against the sides of the floorpan. Make sure the holes on the Monkey Bar plate line up with the seatbelt anchor bolt holes.

Are you driving a big bowl of Jell-O? You know what I’m talking about. Does your car’s chassis flex a little too much when you’re curling onto a freeway onramp at 90 mph? Throw on a set of lowering springs and a strut bar and see what happens. Still too much bodyroll? Check out the solution. RS Akimoto offers its new Monkey Bar center support brace to stiffen your chassis to its max. The Monkey Bar is fully functional and easy to install. How cool is that? Follow along and you can learn how to stiffen up your chassis in just under ten minutes.

The majority of you have a full interior and carpet in your car, and don’t plan on removing or cutting any panels. Luckily, RS Akimoto designed its Monkey Bar so that no surgery of any interior parts is necessary. However, you’ll get a better perspective on how well the Monkey Bar fits and how easy it is to install if we show you the process without any interior in the way. So, Wilson To of Raceline Development donated his 1998 Honda Civic for some dissection. Well, he didn’t exactly donate his car; we had to bribe him with three cheeseburgers, four chicken sandwiches, two large-sized fries, one large milk shake, and one chocolate sundae. Then, we just waited for him to fall into a food coma so we could steal his ratchet with a 14mm socket and get our arses into gear.
