When you’re attempting to put together one of the most electrifying show cars on the circuit, you can’t skimp on the details. The paint has to be right, the graphics have to be on target, and the interior has to be immaculate. Of course, one of the main things that can make or break a car is the in-car entertainment package.
When Meguiar’s decided to put such a system into its 2000 Type R, a call went out to William and Frank at Traffic Jamz. Pioneer components were spread throughout the interior, providing one of the most incredible audio/video experiences in a car. The driver and passenger are bathed in sound emanating from all four corners, thanks to the Pioneer separates mounted in the factory locations. Two Pioneer amplifiers provide the power and two Pioneer 10-inch subwoofers deliver the thunder for this awesome rolling theater. A center channel speaker is mounted in the dash to strengthen the vocals and to provide true Dolby 5.1 audio for the Pioneer in-dash CD player/ monitor and the trunk mounted DVD changer.
Two additional Pioneer monitors were mounted in the dash and are attached to cameras mounted in the sideview mirrors. At any time, the monitor that’s built into the head unit can display images from a rearview camera mounted in the trunk keyhole. With all these cameras, you can always be sure of who’s watching over your shoulder.
